Writing after a long time, taken out some time for the thing which I love to do : blogging. I am not an influencial blogger but whatever I am writing today is having a special purpose- A step towards giving Maithili cinema an international recognition. I don’t know much about cinema but I have not seen a Maithili movie after ‘Sasta Jinagi Mahag Senur’ directed by Balkrishna Jha jee, having a good story showing our culture and having a clean tag. My meaning of ‘clean’ means without any obscenity or vulgarity even a small one. Now a days maithili songs are being vulgarised now by a singers like Madhav Rai, Dilip Darbhangia who got fame after bhajans and now singing songs like ‘Haath Gusiyaba de’ and many more. I haven’t written any blog related to movie since I started my blog. It’s not that I don’t want to write but I don’t find any films suitable to write about. I remember the day when a person sent me a message through contact us page of my website http://mithila.webs.com to write about his movie ‘Mukhiya Jee’. I asked him to give the details but he told me to search on my own. By seeing the poster and observing his attitude, I thought of not writing about the movie. Today I am writing because I find something good to write about. It’s about CFM : Cooperative Film Movement, a movement started and led by an independent film maker, revolutionary writer, philanthrophist-Nitin Chandra. In this, you have to invest 10,000 rupees, which is merely 835 rupees per month. There are so many reasons to contribute or support the movement. It will clear all your doubts as I think. First, it is not a bluffing game. Nitin chandra is a character which one can trust 100%. I am refering one incident about his nature. A few years ago, one of my friend’s research paper got selected and she was unable to make it to Italy because of shortage of money. I contacted most of the highly earning personality from Bihar but couldn’t get a positive response except Nitin Chandra. He not even suggested me to make collection from the friends group but also promised to contribute double the amount which we each can contribute. Second, he is very serious about our culture, songs, films and language and strictly against vulgarity in films and songs. He even filed an online petition against Vinay Bihari, the culture minister of Bihar to remove him from such honourable post as he(vinay bihari) has made a record in producing vulgar songs. Third, his Bhojpuri film ‘Deswa’ has been awarded at various International film festivals. You can see the trailer here.
So, you can expect maithili cinema or regional cinema excelling at international platform. Most interesting thing and a reason to write about CFM on my blog is : the first film under it is a maithili film ‘Mithila Makhaan Pvt Ltd’ and today is the last date for depositing the first installment for this movement. What I think that our maithili film makers are still not making maithili movie with strong story and giving it an ability to go to international recognition. They do only to just increase the number of maithili cinemas. I don’t know, how much I could convince you all but I believe that Nitin Chandra can bring maithili cinema to a level we ever dreamt of.
