The Kriti Purush Award has been conferred on the noted author Dr Birbal Jha by Vidyapati Smarak Manch, Kolkata in recognition of Dr Jha’s literary works as well as his managerial skills and directorial role in advancing the cause of English language skills throughout the country.

Dr Jha’s Delhi based social venture of national repute; British Lingua has signed an MoU with the Government of Bihar to impart Spoken English Skills training to the Government High School teachers in the state. For this British Lingua’s efforts have been nationally and internationally recognized, praised and awarded

“The role of English education in today’s world cannot be gainsaid. It has become a window on the world through which the young generation can have a better career and prosperity in their life. Dr Birbal Jha is justly filling the widening gap in Indian society”, said N C Jha the Chairman, Coal India while presenting the award on the occasion in Kolkata. The Ex West Bengal DGP Mr V K Jha who joined the chairman and said that English skills allow us to make our communication more effective without any geographical boundaries throughout the world.

To his credit, Dr Birbal Jha has written 20 books on the English language including general learning interests connected with the language. He has become a youth icon, said the general secretary of the Manch. His best seller “Spoken English Kit” has sold lacs of copies and is regularly updated to adapt to the times.

The village boy Birbal was born in 1972 in the remote village of Sijaul; Madhubani district. The region is known worldwide for Mithila Paintings. He received his early education at the village school and undertook further education at Patna University where he was conferred his Doctorate Degree. He is the editor of Lingua Bulletin, a monthly magazine aimed at helping people hone their English communication skills.

“This award will bolster my confidence for advancing the cause I have undertaken. I thank everyone directly or indirectly involved in my life and my mission”, said Dr Jha humbly during his acceptance speech.
