Tirhuta script is the ancient script that was being used in Mithila. This script is on the verge of extinction as very few people (Maithils), around 1% are using it. However, efforts are being done to preserve this script by teaching Maithils to use this script.

This painting is out of paintings from the first Mithila painting exhibition by Antiquecraft Private Limited with website partner MithilanchalGroup. This was an attempt to provide a platform to Madhubani Painting artists to showcase their talents. The exhibition was organised at Arpana Art Gallery, New Delhi in June 2016.
