Hand Painted Bandhani Kalamkari Munga Silk Saree

16,650.00

Product Description: This piece of saree is a work of art. Two different arts are done on the saree. The Bandhej is hand-tied & dyed. And the free hand-drawn Kalamkari is done in the pallu and blouse. The material – Munga Silk adds to the richness of this look. Material: Munga silk.

Kalamkari was first used to portray scenes from sacred texts such as the Mahabharata, Ramayana and Bhagavatam. These paintings were often used as decorative backdrops in temples, depicting the stories of deities. Today, these subjects are still common in Kalamkari, as well as other spiritual and ancient symbols.

This silk saree is crafted with hand-drawn, hand-painted Kalamkari from Srikalahasti. It’s a 5.5 mtr saree drape with exclusive 90 cm running blouse piece with drawn Kalamkari border to go with.

Each item is handcrafted with the hand-painting technique, using 100% natural colors for painting, and might carry variations of color, patterns and other delicate inefficiencies. Handloom fabric may have uneven texture.
Disclaimer:The kalamkari technique lends distinct odour to the products. Slight strains of color are inherent to the technique.
